Life and Caffeine

Hello blog friends. Has it really been over a week since I last visited my ol blog?!!!!

Honestly, I don't know where to begin today as I'm so out of the habit. I guess I'll start by saying that this little bug has moved from 2 naps to 1 a day. And thus went my blog/computer time. Me on the computer when S. Small is awake is not a pretty site. He pulls my hair, bangs on the keyboard, basically attacks me from all sides. He's cruel. And its not worth the fight.

But regardless of how much he tortures me I just love him to pieces. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE our days at home together. Wild horses would have to quarter me in the streets to convince me I should do something else with my time. Its worth every dollar I don't bring home and more!

Now that he's getting on up in age (15 months - so old, right?) he's needing a little more guided play. So we color, read books, watch Veggie Tales, sing, eat snacks. Some days (okay, most days) I have zero to show for my time except a well fed, somewhat clean, and very loved boy. I'm totally okay with that. I know these days are precious and they are flying by.

And although this season of mothering a toddler and pregnancy is wonderful, its not without its headaches and frustrations. Thankfully, I am greatly aided by a drug known as caffeine. And if it makes you feel better, yes, I drink it in moderation. I'll have you know I've barely been able to stomach coffee these past few months and only in recent weeks have I been able to drink a little tiny bit of coffee with a healthy portion of milk. Normally I'm a fool for strong black coffee that makes your stomach hurt. But this unborn babe has me strictly on homemade cafe au laits.

I've also become a lover of diet coke. And the one I allow myself daily, is truly a savored treat. Beverages, in general, I LOVE. It is not necessarily the drink itself, but the ritual of sipping on something while doing a favorite activity or getting through a dreaded task. Nothing helps me tackle a big pile of needs-to-be-folded laundry like turning on some music and crakin' open a DC.

Well, that's all for now. How I hope to be back sooner than a week and a half.

Oh my word, those are precious pictures! Yes, these days
are so sweet. I'm trying to remember to soak
it all in. Sniff. Although, my "activity" attempts
seem to only hold J's attention for about 3 min. I think I need to arm myself with more supplies...

The nap transition is a hard one but it gets easier, I promise! You are doing the right thing by structuring your mornings bc it will wear his little self out! Not only to make him tired;) but to help him "grow" in his little world. Caffeine has saved me too! I can only do a half cup with the rest being milk, but, its saved me as well. Glad to hear you guys are doing well! Don't worry, in the next 3 months, he will start allowing you to do a little of your own thing...except go to the bathroom!

Wanting What I Have said...

OH, you encourage me! I love how you put it, that every dollar and then some you don't bring home is totally worth it! Yes! THAT is how I feel. I am so glad and encouraged to read your words!

And included in that, your comment that most days you have little to show besides a well fed, somewhat cleaned, and very loved little boy. I NEED that encouragement! That THAT is enough! It is but a season!

Congrats on baby! I didn't realize! How wonderful and exciting!
