Mother's Evening Out

Last night I had the joy of a). going out to dinner with friends in my Sunday school class and b). doing a little shopping afterward ALONE, without my wiggle worm named Stephen Small.

Unfortunately I am a SLOW and particular shopper. I wish it weren't so, but its my reality. It takes me awhile to make a decision. Reason being...I most often know exactly what I want, but what I want usually can't be found. I set the bar too high with my specific taste. Typically I pour over the decision of settling for 2nd best and most often walk out of stores empty handed. I struggle with this most when shopping for clothes. It has been a problem for me since my childhood. Really. A real problem.

However, last night I felt as though I hit the jack pot. I went searching to find Stephen Small some fall play clothes and I found Stephen Small some fall play clothes. It was like manna from heaven. I found what I needed! What I wanted! Cute stuff. And in my price range.

It all came from Kohl's, which I have a new love and respect for.

I also made a quick stop in Joann's to buy a yard of this vintage - looking cowboy fabric. I've been eying it for weeks.

The big reveal of what I'm going to make with it will hopefully be sooner rather than later. My final deadline is Christmas.

The whole eating and shopping experience was so luxurious. I felt so re-charged and productive.

Thank you Lord for the simple things in life like eating a chicken salad sandwich with friends and buying cheap clothes at Kohl's.

Love the SS "outfits" (I don't think you use that term for boys!), and the cowboy fabric is spectacular.

When your dad was little he wore cowboy hats and clothes all the time. (I bet there are photos of him in them somewhere.) The cowboy fabric makes me think of that

Good for you & your night out! Love those appliqued shirts! I also love the vintage cowboy...Rutledge's nursery is done in that fabric with a red & white gingham & tan & brown ticking for accents. Its really really durable & fantastic looking;) can't wait to see what you do with it!

Cute, cute, cute! LOVE the fabric. I eyed that same fabric for making a duvet in Little Man's room. It's GREAT looking! I can't wait to see what you're going to make!

Hurry, fall! I love the outfits. And I love how you have pegged your shopping weaknesses (or are they strengths?) Glad you had a night out! Can't wait to see what you create with that adorable fabric.
