My job was to bring the salad. It was a hit! A few of you have asked for the recipe. Here it is.
This is one of my mom's friend's sister's cousin's recipes. JK. Just one of my mom's friends.
Toasted Almond Salad
2 heads Romaine lettuce, torn up, washed
l pint cherry (or grape) tomatoes
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
l cup grated Swiss cheese
l/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
4-5 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
*For toasted almonds, spread out on cookie sheet and place in oven on 350 degrees for approximately 8-10 minutes. WATCH closely. They can burn quick.

The Vinaigrette
3 - 4 large cloves garlic, minced
l cup vegetable or salad oil
2 teaspoon salt
2 lemons, juice only
Add to salad and toss just before serving
*You could easily half this recipe for a small crowd. 2 heads of Romaine makes a lot of salad.
Happy Tuesday!

Sounds tasty!
Excited to see your new blog!
Can you teach me how to grow salad?? Also, I saw Paula Deen's recipe for toasting your own granola. When you mentioned toasting your almonds, it reminded me of her recipe that I think you'd like.
I'm almost tempted to get into the kitchen!

I'm going to try it!
