And if you have access to one, then TODAY is the day to clip some blooms for an arrangement. These trees don't stay in bloom long, so take advantage while they're here.
My friend, James wrote a post on Dogwoods today. One helpful tip he shares is to smash the ends of the wooded stems with a hammer before putting them in water. This allows the water absorb better.

I gotta go find me a Dogwood. They are my favorite trees, and I am trying to convince Joseph to add one to our yard...For now, I may resort to theft.
