On a totally unrelated note, I made homemade hot chocolate tonight. It reminded me of how much hot chocolate I drank in highschool. My friend Win and I studied for almost every test together. "Killer Cocoa", as we liked to call it, was our favorite study break treat. The recipe: 1 packet of hot chocolate mix, water, a candy cane, whip cream, and some sort of chocolate shaving on top.
Tonight I made it differently...found a good recipe on Cooks.com. I like to think of it as "Killer Cocoa Revised" Here it is.
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 c. milk
bit of vanilla, if desired
whip cream
Combine cocoa, sugar, and water in a small saucepan. Heat it on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the paste from sticking to the pan. After about 1 to 2 minutes, add milk and vanilla. Mix it all together until it reaches your preferred temperature. Top with whip Cream.
